Bynario Raises Funding After AI-Powered Research Uncovered Critical Apple Vulnerabilities

MILAN, ITALY, September 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Bynario, the cybersecurity company whose researchers used frontier AI models to uncover serious vulnerabilities in Apple’s Operating Systems, today announced the €2.1 million closing of its pre-seed funding round.

The research, reported by the Financial Times in August, demonstrated the rapidly growing capabilities of AI-assisted vulnerability research and the challenge enterprises now face in understanding, prioritizing and remediating vulnerabilities at the same speed.

The round was led by 360 Capital Partners, with participation from PranaVentures. The funding will accelerate development of Bynario’s AI-powered security platform, expand its engineering team, and support growing demand from enterprises seeking to secure increasingly complex software environments.

The announcement comes as AI begins to reshape both sides of cybersecurity. Attackers and security researchers can increasingly use frontier models to identify and exploit vulnerabilities at a speed and scale that was previously impossible, while defenders remain heavily reliant on manual investigation, validation and remediation.

“Defense at scale needs the same depth as offense,” said Alfredo Pesoli, CEO and co-founder of Bynario. “Attackers are fundamentally incentive-driven. As AI continues to reduce the cost of vulnerability research and exploitation, more exploitable vulnerabilities become attractive targets. The challenge for defenders is only becoming more acute.”

Bynario has already demonstrated how quickly those dynamics are changing. In August, the company’s researchers used frontier AI models as part of an offensive security research programme that uncovered serious vulnerabilities in Apple’s macOS Screen Sharing technology.

The research, which was reported by the Financial Times, showed how AI-assisted security research can dramatically accelerate the process of finding and exploiting previously unknown software vulnerabilities. The findings were disclosed to Apple, which subsequently issued fixes for the affected vulnerabilities.

Software development is accelerating as AI tools increase developer productivity and organizations deploy more applications, dependencies and third-party components than ever before. Software vulnerabilities are now the most common pathway into enterprise systems, accounting for 31% of incidents in Verizon’s 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report.

The result is an expanding attack surface and an overwhelming volume of security findings, making it increasingly difficult for enterprises to distinguish genuine risk from background noise.

Bynario is building a suite of security products designed to help organizations identify, prioritize and remediate software vulnerabilities at scale. Its technology enables security teams to focus on the risks that matter most while reducing the operational burden of securing software from code to production.

Built by senior security researchers and repeat founders, Bynario combines deep offensive security expertise with practical product development experience. Its technology is designed to help organizations move beyond vulnerability discovery and towards continuous exposure management. The company is already working with customers across software, cloud and enterprise environments, helping them reduce remediation times and improve visibility into software risk.

“We have known the majority of the founding team for a long time and we were deeply impressed by Alfredo’s clarity of vision and technical breakthrough,” said Cesare Maifredi, Partner at 360 Capital. “Bynario’s approach of autonomous vulnerability discovery, validation, prioritization, and remediation is what is needed in modern cybersecurity. We are proud to stand alongside them as they build this game-changing AI-based platform from the ground up.”

The investment comes as organizations face growing pressure to secure software supply chains, cloud-native applications and AI-driven systems. Industry analysts estimate that the volume of software vulnerabilities continues to grow year-on-year, while the global cybersecurity skills shortage leaves many unable to keep pace.

The complexity of modern software demands a different approach to security,” added Giancarlo Russo, COO and co-founder of Bynario. “We’ve assembled a team of security researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs and academics who understand both the theory and practice of cybersecurity. That combination allows us to bridge the gap between cutting-edge security research and practical solutions that organisations can deploy at scale.”
