Deadline Approaches for Berger and Green’s 2026 Heart Disease Scholarship

The $1,000 award supports students diagnosed with heart disease; applications are due June 15

PITTSBURGH, PA / ACCESS Newswire / May 7, 2026 / Berger and Green is accepting applications until June 15th for its 2026 Heart Disease Scholarship, which awards $1,000 to one undergraduate or graduate student in the United States who has been diagnosed with heart disease or a congenital heart defect. The firm established the scholarship in 2017 to support students living with cardiovascular conditions, recognizing the academic and personal challenges of managing a serious medical condition.

Eligible applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited U.S. college, university or graduate program and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students must submit a completed application, a transcript and a 500- to 1,000-word essay.

“Students living with heart disease often balance school, medical care and long-term health concerns in ways many people do not see,” said Amanda Bonnesen, managing partner at Berger and Green. “The essay portion gives applicants a chance to share that story in their own words, including what the condition has taught them, what they wish others understood, or how the country can better address heart disease.”

Applications for the 2026 Berger and Green Heart Disease Scholarship are due June 15, 2026. To apply, students must complete the online application form. Late submissions will not be considered.

For more than 40 years, Berger and Green has served injured and disabled individuals in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Through the Heart Disease Scholarship, the firm continues its commitment to supporting students whose medical conditions should not prevent them from pursuing their academic goals.
